Quit 101 Clinic

The Timiskaming Health Unit offers a free smoking cessation program called Quit 101 Clinic. This program is designed to help people become and stay smoke-free. The program focuses on the needs of each individual and consists of 6 to 8 one-on-one appointments with a cessation counsellor.

These appointments will help by:
  • Determining individual reasons for smoking
  • Providing handy tips and ideas for quitting
  • Letting you know what to expect when quitting
  • Giving tips for dealing with cravings
  • Providing healthy eating facts to avoid weight gain while quitting, and more!

These appointments will counsel clients at each stage of the quitting process - from before quitting, through the actual quitting process, and then staying smoke-free. We can even set you up with two weeks of free Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

Objectives of the Quit 101 Clinic
  • To provide a one-on-one intervention in a clinical setting for smokers who wish to quit.
  • To assist those who have quit and are struggling to stay smoke-free.
Components of the Quit Smoking 101 include:
