Giant Hogweed in Ontario

Recent reports in the media around giant hogweed have raised awareness and conern around the potential health effects of exposure to this plant. While the Ministry of Natural Resources is leading initiatives to advise about dealing with this plant species, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care is providing the following information on the potential health effects of giant hogweed from the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion.

Client Services Update

Evening Hours
Evening hours are offered the first Tuesday of every month. On this day, offices in Kirkland Lake, Englehart and New Liskeard will remain open until 8:00 p.m.
 
Services By Appointment
An appointment is required for services such as immunization and well baby visits. Please call to schedule an appointment if you require these services.
 
These changes take effect July 6, 2010.

An amendment to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act banning adults from smoking in cars where children under the age of 16 are present comes into effect January 21st, 2009. For more information about creating a smoke-free ride, click here
